Let’s take a moment to talk “Unconventionally grown produce” and why it’s so special! Back before the USDA took over certification, Windfall Farms was under a state Organic certification category. Using ZERO pesticides, fungicides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers Morse Pitts very easily went above and beyond the requirements to meet ‘Organic’ standards. In 1990 the Organic Foods Production Act required the USDA develop national standards for Organic Certification. This certification actually allows for a certain level of synthetic items to be used in the farming process as well as only requiring a minimum of 3 years with soil that has not had pesticides! Windfall choose to stay above those standards and is still waiting for a certification that meets OUR standards. We hope to continue to help educate those who truly want a completely naturally grown vegetable.
